The Motion Sensor can detect motion up to approximately 25 feet (8 meters) during the day and at night. It is designed to detect movement from larger object – like people – while ignoring movement from smaller objects like pets.
Avoid pointing your Motion Sensor directly at a window, as objects outside the window may trigger false alarms. Do not place it outdoors and do not install it in a location where it will point directly at the sun.
The Motion Sensor performs best when it is placed in a location where it has a line of sight into the room or hallway – especially in places people are expected to cross. You may use the screws provided to install the Motion Sensor on a ceiling, or you can use the Motion Sensor’s bracket to set it on a shelf or mantle.
